Bin Laden—Is He Dead or Alive?
What difference does it make? As I sit here on this Sunday morning, it honestly makes no difference to me whether he is dead or alive, and I’m not understanding why people are so focused on news about him. Terrorism is so much "vaster" than that one man, why should we assign a large number of soldiers and "intelligence people" to pursuing him? If anybody thinks they can explain it, I’d be glad to hear from you.

Why do we need to improve our "understanding?" My religion isn't trying to kill anyone who doesn't think as we do. Only the Islamic crazies think this way. It seems to me that we should just eliminate these crazies. I don't see how an improved "understanding" helps anybody.
All movements need leaders (and money). bin Idiot has money and is considered a leader. Get rid of him and lots of money goes away as well as a leader.
Bin Laden is the personification of 9/11--how can you not care if he's alive or dead?
To Kathy and all who agree with her: Losing bin Laden will not make any significant difference to the terrorists. Evidently you think that terrorism is a relatively new "movement" led and supported by a few wealthy fanatics. Kill them and their ideas will also die! That idea, alone, means that you have no knowledge of the ways some Muslims have always interpreted the Koran. You might not have needed to "know Islam" in the past, but we're now living with nuclear weapons! That fact alone makes it time for non-Muslims to become acquainted with the 2nd largest monotheistic religion in the world, which is rapidly gaining on Christianity's lead. We cannot intelligently discuss religious beliefs without knowledge of those beliefs.
